Quality and Profitability in the Hygiene Department
This program is grounded in the ideas that today's clinicians should be working safer and smarter (not harder) and the economic principle that hygiene departments should be producing 30 to 40% of a practice's revenue. Beginning with an historical perspective, this program starts with a description of the economic realities of running a dental hygiene department including effects on practice overhead and fees for hygiene procedures. It includes a presentation of current technologies and treatment modalities, an effective methodology for periodontal examination and case presentation, and clear strategies for dealing with insurance claims. Clear goals and an updated action plan are developed at the end of each day.
The hygiene program is a 6 month program which includes a preliminary telephone interview, three doctor/team meetings (1/2 day each), the opportunity for team members to observe in Dr. Perry's practice, and telephone support from Dr. Perry and his staff for the doctor and team.
